Open Letter of Support and Gratitude to Elon Musk

Dear Elon,

On behalf of the iEthereum Advocacy Trust, I want to express our gratitude and support for your decision to host an interview with President Donald Trump on the X platform. This bold move aligns with the principles that we hold dear—principles that echo the very foundations of free speech, censorship resistance, and the importance of upholding immutable code and social contracts, including the Bill of Rights.

Today, we continue an unintended series of open letters, designed to publicly support individuals facing injustice in areas that resonate deeply with the iEthereum Advocacy Trust and our principles in support of iEthereum. We apologize to those who may find this politically charged, but let it be known: free speech is a right worth defending. This country is on a verge of losing its most precious liberty. Harboring skepticism of government and to resist its desire to subvert our most fundamental rights while loving our country simultaneously is possible. This duality is not only possible but essential for the preservation of our freedoms. And in this war, it is our belief that when we see courage, we must express our support and to be unified in common causes.

We live in interesting times and in these times change is inevitable. We are excited about the change we are about to witness—change that we have long known to be necessary. While this change may seem daunting, it is upon us, and we must navigate it with vigilance. We are on the cusp of either securing our freedoms or losing them, becoming slaves to a dystopian technocracy. The greatest transfer of wealth is upon us. As part of this great transfer, blockchain, a technology of immense power, will either liberate us or “chain” us—it is up to us to decide.

As President James A. Garfield once said, "He who controls the money supply of a nation controls the nation." A country is more than just its geographic borders; it is a social contract, united by culture, religion, ideas, money, race, interests, and politics. In the United States, this social contract is embodied in our Constitution, but more importantly, in our Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights was not written by the government, but by and for the People, as a reaffirmation of our inherent distrust of governmental power.

The First Amendment of our social contract protects five fundamental rights: freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, and the right to petition the government. Yet, on Monday, August 12th, 2024, we witnessed an egregious attack on this social contract by bad actors. The European Union, an unelected puppet bureau, sent a letter to you, Elon, attempting to constrain your interview with President Trump on the X platform. Furthermore, our own government’s “press secretary” responded to a question from the free paid press about the White House's role in preventing misinformation on social media platforms. Instead of affirming the right to free speech, Jean-Pierre vaguely referenced internal actions, implying concern over the interview.

The interview was later delayed due to a significant DDoS attack on the X platform, coinciding with the scheduled time for the conversation. Regardless of the cause, the point remains clear: the Former President of the United States, whether liked or disliked, has the right to converse with anyone he chooses. Likewise, you, one of the world’s most influential figures, have the right to interview anyone you wish. Both of you have the right to assemble and discuss whatever you deem important. We stand with these principles.

The iEthereum Advocacy Trust fully supports your commitment to free speech and resistance to censorship. We live in the United States of America, a nation with a social contract that guarantees these rights—not granted by government, but by God. These rights, bestowed by a higher power, supersede the authority of those who seek to strip them away. Perhaps the moral decline we see in our country today stems from the slowly breaking of this social contract decades ago.

This open letter is not a political statement, though it may be perceived as such. Rather, it is a declaration of our alignment with the First Amendment and our public condemnation of authoritarianism that seeks to erode these rights. iEthereum, in its very essence, embodies these values: it is immutable, censorship-resistant, transparent, permission-less, open-source, accountable, and free to transact and move as it pleases. iEthereum operates with a social contract, written in code, that reflects the same principles we hold dear.

The iEthereum Advocacy Trust stands in solidarity with President Trump and Elon Musk, asserting their rights to engage in public conversations whenever and wherever they choose. With respect and support of your courage to, in this instance, stand with the people’s free speech rights while exercising your own.

We are not the founders of iEthereum. Our support for iEthereum remains steadfast in its open source immutable code, an assured commitment these fundamental rights such as free speech.
